Field Team Returns!

Our first field team of 2007 has returned from the Amapala area in Honduras. Their effort was on Isla del Tigre in the Playa Negra area of the island. It was a wonderful trip for the 17 team members who participated. Over 1,700 patients were seen in a medical clinic and a dental clinic providing patients with much needed care. In addition to the 17 team members volunteering through MEDICO this team played host to 4 volunteers from Honduras; 3 medical students and 1 neurologist. The weather was in stark contrast to the weather in the United States with temperatures nearing 100-degrees. Word has it that this team was one of the very best teams assembled as they encumbered many opportunities within the brigade effort. We welcome this team back from Central America and applaud the success of their efforts in providing humanitarian service to the 1700-plus residents of this island. Be sure and click onto the MEDICO website to view additional photos from the field team.

In other news, Tuesday evening, Jan. 23rd will be another MEDICO warehouse night. We thank the volunteers who are able to participate in this opportunity as it provides MEDICO with much needed preparation for each field team. Our next team departs at the end of February and will be serving in the Department of Cortes in the community of Naranjito Banaderos.
